Mike Venerable

Mike Venerable is Director of Healthcare & Life Sciences and a founding partner of The O.H.I.O. Fund, where he focuses on identifying and investing in companies with the potential to scale, create jobs, and drive long-term economic growth across Ohio. Mike brings more than two decades of experience as an entrepreneur, investor, company builder, and advisor. Prior to joining The O.H.I.O. Fund, he spent roughly 17 years with CincyTech, ultimately serving as President & CEO. During his tenure, he helped build and invest in emerging technology and life sciences companies and worked closely with entrepreneurs, research institutions, investors, and regional partners to strengthen Southwest Ohio's innovation economy. Before entering venture investing, Mike built his career as a software entrepreneur and investor. His professional journey has taken him from Ohio to California, South Korea, and the Washington, D.C. region, giving him a firsthand perspective on how technology, capital, talent, public policy, and strong networks can transform regional economies. An Ohio native, Mike returned to the state in 2004 and has spent much of the past two decades helping build its entrepreneurial ecosystem. Today, he leads The O.H.I.O. Fund's healthcare and life sciences efforts, connecting promising companies with the capital, expertise, and relationships needed to grow. A native of Hamilton, Ohio, Mike's passion for economic development is also personal. He has watched his hometown evolve from the decline of its traditional manufacturing base into a community experiencing renewed investment and growth, an experience that informs his belief that innovation and entrepreneurship can create opportunity throughout Ohio.
