Patrick Brown

Director of Commercialization, University of Cincinnati

Patrick J. Brown is Director of Commercialization at the University of Cincinnati's 1819 Innovation Hub, where he leads efforts to develop and commercialize UC technologies, research, and innovation — connecting entrepreneurs, industry partners, and investors with UC's deep portfolio of intellectual property, capabilities, and resources. Having licensed UC technology and co-founded a startup himself, Patrick now helps others do the same. With nearly two decades at UC, he has built a career around bridging the gap between the lab and the market and finding the right partners to bring UC innovations to life.

Details

The University of Cincinnati's Tech Transfer & Commercialization Office at the 1819 Innovation Hub does more than file patents. It actively engages in the continued development and commercialization of university innovations across multiple pathways. One of those pathways is a founder-friendly model built specifically to match venture builders with UC technologies, inventors, and early-stage funding opportunities to co-create new Ohio companies. This session pulls back the curtain on how that process works, and what other commercialization and partnership options exist for existing startups and companies looking to leverage UC research and capabilities. Whether you're sourcing your next venture or looking to accelerate an existing one, UC's portfolio of innovations and partnership programs may be exactly what you've been missing.
