Objectives

E-YUVA was initiated by BIRAC to promote a culture of applied research and need-oriented (societal or industry) entrepreneurial innovation among young students and researchers. It is implemented through dedicated hubs called E-Yuva Centers (EYCs), housed within the University/Institute set up and mentored by a BIRAC BioNEST supported bio-incubator. The Scheme provides support under two categories: BIRAC’s Innovation Fellows (post-graduates and above), and BIRAC’s E-YUVA Fellows (undergraduate students).

Who can apply?

  • Innovation Fellows: An Indian Student who has completed Masters/ Ph.D. in any discipline.
  • E-YUVA Fellows: Indian students pursuing under graduation in any domain.

What do you get?

  • The Scheme provides funding support – through fellowship and research grants.
  • Monthly fellowship grant provided under the Scheme ranges between ₹30,000-₹50,000. Annual research grant range between ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh.
  • Technical and business mentoring, exposure to bioincubation model, orientation to entrepreneurial culture etc. is also provided to students.

Two Calls for Applications announced in a year. Online applications are to be submitted through the BIRAC website: https://birac.nic.in The shortlisted applicants/teams are called for a presentation before a Technical Expert Committee along with BIRAC nominee at respective EYCs
