The National Livestock Mission helps startups and institutions in animal husbandry build businesses, improve innovation, and strengthen the livestock value chain from production to market.
Objectives
The National Livestock Mission (NLM) Scheme aims to develop entrepreneurs in the sector of animal husbandry in order to create the forward and backward linkages for the produce available at the unorganized sector with the organized sector.
Who can apply?
- Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Institutes, Central Institutes, State Government University farms and other credible institutions and startups
What do you get?
- The Central Government will provide 100% assistance for conducting Extension, R&D and Innovation activities, based on the need and scope of the proposal shared by the applicant. The startups will also be incentivized for problem solving in the sheep, goat, poultry, pig, feed and fodder. The Department will conduct a Startup Grand Challenge Programme.
How to apply
The Central Agencies/ University farms will submit the proposal to the NLM division of the Department through their parent organization/ State Animal Husbandry Department.
